The Overton Wolverines will square off against the Bolton Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Overton got the win against Memphis East by a conclusive 11-2. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Nehemiah Diggs, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Julian Tallent, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Bolton earned an 11-7 victory over Kingsbury on Tuesday.
Jaylon Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Myles Runnels and Anthony Mull did most of the damage at the plate: Runnels scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4, while Mull scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Mull has become a key player for Bolton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 0-6 otherwise. Anthony Suggs was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Bolton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in four consecutive games.
Bolton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Overton, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Overton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 13.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bolton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Overton skirted past Bolton 8-6 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
