Soccer Recap: Laney Takes a Loss

Laney and Topsail squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Laney had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 1-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against Topsail this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat last Wednesday.

Laney has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8-2 record this season. As for Topsail, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8-5.

Laney does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Topsail, they will square off against Hoggard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hoggard will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Topsail surely won't give up without a fight.
