Volleyball Recap: Port Isabel Takes a Loss

If Port Isabel was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Raymondville on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tarpons took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rivera Raiders on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tarpons of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2022.

Port Isabel's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Rivera, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Port Isabel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Lyford on the 21st. As for Rivera, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Los Fresnos on the 21st.
