Basketball Recap: Nayim Ramirez Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Booker T. Washington

Westland Hialeah's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes with points to spare, taking the game 57-42. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 44-37 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Westland Hialeah's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nayim Ramirez, who posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave Ramirez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinmore Williams, who had eight points and 13 rebounds.

Ramirez wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Westland Hialeah was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Westland Hialeah pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Booker T. Washington, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Westland Hialeah will take on North Miami in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in North Miami's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Booker T. Washington, they will welcome North Miami Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
