Recap: Woodmere Academy vs. Friends Academy Quakers
Woodmere Academy pushed their score all the way to 57 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Friends Academy.
Friends Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eyan Valadez, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Valadez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jackson O'Brien, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Woodmere Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Friends Academy, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodmere Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Luther at 5:30 p.m. on February 7th. As for Friends Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Seaford at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
