Baseball Recap: Kamiak Knights vs. Stanwood Spartans

Kamiak was the 3-0 winner over Stanwood when they last played one another back in March of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Kamiak Knights fell 7-3 to the Stanwood Spartans on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs Kamiak has scored all season.

Dylan Batalona was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

On Stanwood's side, Tanner Requa was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn't allow any walks). Requa was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with a stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Connor Clifton was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Kamiak and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Stanwood, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Kamiak will head out on the road to square off against Everett at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stanwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jackson will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Stanwood surely won't give up without a fight.
