Softball Recap: Millville Quakers vs. Lewisburg Green Dragons
Millville had lost ten straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-17 to make it 11. They lost 22-7 to the Lewisburg Green Dragons. If the Quakers were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Green Dragons when the teams met back in May of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Caitlyn Ludwig made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Riera-Gomez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
As for Lewisburg, their victory ended an 18-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-15. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Lewisburg's side, Brinley Haile was incredible, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Haile a new career-high. Josie Gutkowski also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Millville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lewisburg, they have already played their next contest, an 11-0 defeat against Shikellamy on the 15th.
