Softball Game Preview: Pacelli Cardinals vs. Wausau West Warriors

The Pacelli Cardinals will take on the Wausau West Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Pacelli is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Pacelli is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Pittsville get on the board and left with a 24-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Wausau West suffered their biggest loss since April 5th on Thursday. They lost 11-3 to Marshfield.

Pacelli pushed their record up to 18-0 with the victory, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Wausau West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Pacelli couldn't quite get it done against Wausau West in their previous meeting back in April of 2016 as they fell 11-8. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
