Softball Recap: King's Way Christian Comes Up Short

King's Way Christian scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Columbia Bruins by a score of 13-12. Even though they lost, the Knights' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 7 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Lauren Lewis was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Grace Wickum, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4.

King's Way Christian is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. As for Columbia, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0-1.

While King's Way Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
