Softball Recap: Crockett Takes a Loss

If Crockett was riding high fresh off their 18-0 takedown of Richards School for Young Women Leaders last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crockett Cougars lost 10-0 to the Bastrop Bears on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since February 27th.

Crockett moved to 4-7-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11.33 hits in those games compared to only 4.67 in the others. As for Bastrop, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5-2.

Crockett wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-1 win against Navarro on the 17th. As for Bastrop, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-1 victory against Anderson on the 17th.
