Softball Game Preview: Vanlue Wildcats vs. Leipsic Vikings

The Vanlue Wildcats will face off against the Leipsic Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vanlue is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Vanlue lost 12-1 to Liberty-Benton on Monday.

Olivia Secord was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leipsic). They were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over Pandora-Gilboa on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won seven in a row.

Vanlue's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Leipsic, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Vanlue suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Leipsic in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
