Baseball Recap: East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] Comes Up Short

East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 9-5 to the Maysville Wolverines. East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] was not able to make up for their loss to Maysville from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Tate Johnson was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

In other batting news, Alex Erickson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played. Luke Morey also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax]'s defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Maysville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5.

Looking ahead, East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] will head out on the road to challenge North Platte at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Maysville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gilman City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
