Basketball Recap: Muncie Burris Comes Up Short

Muncie Burris was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 75-37 loss at the hands of the Monroe Central Golden Bears. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 85th).

Easton Foster was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 11 boards for Monroe Central. Foster's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Konkle, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Muncie Burris' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Monroe Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Muncie Burris wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 41-29 loss against Elwood on the 19th. As for Monroe Central, they will head out to take on Lapel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monroe Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.2 points per game this season.
