Football Recap: Eufaula Takes a Loss

Eufaula extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were beaten by the Sallisaw Black Diamonds 57-19. The Ironheads lost against the Black Diamonds in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 27-14 score last time.

Although Eufaula took the loss, they still got scores from Peter Lee, Koltyn Lane, and Luke Hodgins.

Even if they lost, Eufaula's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Fischer McAllister was especially locked on to Sallisaw's QB and sacked him twice.

As for Sallisaw, they pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.2 points on average over those games.

A big part of Sallisaw's win came down to the chemistry between Jackson Harris and his top target Kase Adams. Harris gained 85 total yards and two touchdowns while Adams rushed for 37 yards and one touchdown. Kenyan Hill was another key player, rushing for 48 yards and one TD.

Eufaula wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 28-27 defeat against Muldrow on the 26th. As for Sallisaw, they have also already played their next contest, a 41-29 victory against Hilldale on the 26th.
