Recap: Unaka Rangers vs. Johnson County Longhorns
While Unaka couldn't quite beat Johnson County on Friday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the ten-point loss they were dealt on Thursday. The Unaka Rangers fell just short of the Johnson County Longhorns by a score of 7-5. Unaka was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Johnson County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
Keyona Hague was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with a home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Taylor, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
This is the second loss in a row for Unaka and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Johnson County, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Unaka is on the road again on Tuesday to play North Greene at 5:00 p.m. As for Johnson County, they will challenge Morristown-Hamblen West at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.
