Baseball Recap: Cardinal Newman Crusaders vs. Monsignor Pace Spartans
Cardinal Newman won the last time they faced Monsignor Pace and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Cardinal Newman Crusaders walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Monsignor Pace Spartans.
Sam Lovitz looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, Finn Duran was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, he also racked up three hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. James Elliot was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Cardinal Newman now has a winning record of 1-0-1.
Looking ahead, Cardinal Newman will head out on the road to take on South Fork at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monsignor Pace, they will be playing at home against Southridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
