Softball Game Preview: Amory Panthers vs. Potts Camp Cardinals

The Amory Panthers will take on the Potts Camp Cardinals at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

It was a proper cat-fight when Amory faced off against Nettleton on Friday. The Panthers fell 14-9 to the Tigers.

Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Potts Camp's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Hatley by a score of 1-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Cardinals were not able to get on the board.

Alyssa Clifton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Potts Camp's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Amory, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.
