Softball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Beckman's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

Beckman saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the La Serna Lancers, sneaking past 7-6.

Jess Peralta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Alexa Robledo and Jazmine Cruz did most of the damage at the plate: Robledo scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Cruz scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Cruz has posted since back in April of 2024. Kylie Kim was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Beckman is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for La Serna, they moved to 10-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Beckman didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 loss against South Hills on the 12th. As for La Serna, they will be playing at home against California at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Condors will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight.
