Basketball Recap: Swansea Comes Up Short

Swansea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 28th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 67-28 defeat at the hands of the Lake Marion Gators. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Gators from their previous meeting back in January.

Donnell Goodwin and Zyshawn Jamison certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Goodwin posted 12 points, while Jamison put up nine points.

Lake Marion got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Miles out in front who went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points along with six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Breion Shivers, who had six points in addition to nine assists and six steals.

Swansea's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lake Marion, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Swansea wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-43 loss against Batesburg-Leesville on the 10th. As for Lake Marion, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-44 victory against Branchville on the 10th.
