The Brookfield Bobcats will square off against the St. Joseph Cadets on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Brookfield 0.9, St. Joseph 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Brookfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Bristol Eastern as they made off with a 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 15 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Sydney Miller was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Addasyn Coutts was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Chloe Fitzgerald, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.
Brookfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bristol Eastern only posted a batting average of .087.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Lawmen.
Katie Dzialo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gina Coppola, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Makena Hawkins was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Brookfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for St. Joseph, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Brookfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like St. Joseph struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
