Basketball Recap: Mount Tabor Takes a Loss

Mount Tabor played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Southwest Guilford Cowboys, falling 61-31. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-11.

Mount Tabor lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Shaymiah Bailey, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Bailey has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 13 times she's played. Alexa Babcock also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Mount Tabor dropped their record down to 5-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Southwest Guilford, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Tabor will welcome Davie at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Davie is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season. As for Southwest Guilford, they will be playing at home against Southeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Southeast Guilford also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 54 points per game.
