Softball Game Preview: Norton Science & Language Academy Rockets vs. Bethel Christian Kings

The Norton Science & Language Academy Rockets will head out on the road to take on the Bethel Christian Kings at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Norton Science & Language Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with eight straight losses, while Bethel Christian will come in with three straight wins.

Norton Science & Language Academy came up short against Calvary Baptist on Tuesday, falling 23-2.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Bethel Christian sidestepped Fontana for a 4-2 victory.

Maliyah Jarrett made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Finlee Milhouse, who scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Bethel Christian pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Norton Science & Language Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
