Dutch Fork Wins 13th-Straight Thanks to Maurice Anderson

Dutch Fork picked up their 13th consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Maurice Anderson. Anderson showed up in a big way, rushing for 65 yards and five touchdowns on only eight carries. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 2.2 rushing touchdowns per game.

Dutch Fork's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Anderson and Dutch Fork will square off against White Knoll at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Irmo picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Aaron (Aj) Brand Jr.. Brand Jr. showed up in a big way, rushing for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 145 yards and a touchdown. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (102.5).

If the past is any indication, Brand Jr. could be in store for another big game when he takes on River Bluff on Friday. When Brand Jr. last faced the Gators back in September of 2023, he threw for 204 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown.

On Friday, River Bluff got the W thanks in part to Hayden Myers playing the best football he has all season. Myers rushed for 187 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards.

The victory for River Bluff keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Myers and River Bluff will challenge Irmo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Irmo was led to victory by Jaiden Bryant, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Bryant wasn't messing around, picking up two sacks and making nine total tackles (4.0 for loss). The match was his fourth straight with seven or more total tackles dating back to last season.
