The Liberty Lancers are taking a road trip to take on the Pomeroy Pirates at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Liberty lost 17-7 to St. Maries on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Lancers in their meetings with the Lumberjacks: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pomeroy). Everything went their way against Garfield-Palouse on Saturday as Pomeroy made off with a 10-3 victory. With that win, the Pirates brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Nolan Newberg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
