Softball Recap: Tawas Area Snaps 11-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Tawas Area's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 12-8 win over the Atlanta Huskies.

Kelsey Look made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off four hits. Look was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Khloe Barringer was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs. Rowan Davis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Tawas Area's victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2. As for Atlanta, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tawas Area will welcome Pinconning at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Braves are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Atlanta, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Onaway at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
