Football Recap: North Lenoir Takes a Loss

North Lenoir played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Kinston Vikings 42-7. The Hawks have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Kinston got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Jones out in front who threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also punched in one rushing score. What's more, Jones posted -1 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Jemorris Poole was in the mix as well, providing Kinston with one TD.

North Lenoir now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Kinston, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Lenoir will host Ayden - Grifton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will need to watch out since the Chargers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Kinston, they will be playing at home against White Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
