Basketball Recap: Cumberland County Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

Cumberland County had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past the Russell County Lakers with points to spare, taking the game 46-32. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-36 back in December of 2024.

Cumberland County's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Russell County, they moved to 8-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cumberland County has already played their next contest (against Hart County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Russell County will head out to face off against Metcalfe County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
