Basketball Recap: Newton-Conover Takes a Loss

Newton-Conover lost against Bandys back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Newton-Conover Red Devils fell 52-45 to the Bandys Trojans.

Despite the loss, Newton-Conover still got an impressive performance from Braxton Eckard, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Geddes, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points.

Landon Vaughan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bandys, almost dropping a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. The game was Vaughan's seventh in a row with at least 16 points. Evan Robinson was another key player, putting up nine points.

Newton-Conover's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Bandys, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Newton-Conover didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-49 victory against Bunker Hill on the 11th. As for Bandys, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-51 win against West Caldwell on the 11th.
