Softball Recap: Hoosic Valley Hawks vs. Berlin/New Lebanon Mountain Lions

Hoosic Valley won the last time they faced Berlin/New Lebanon and things went their way on Friday too. The Hawks put the hurt on the Mountain Lions with a sharp 16-4 victory. Considering the Hawks have won three matches by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lizzy Powers spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Ella Waldron was a standout: she fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Lainey Bochette was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.

Hoosic Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berlin/New Lebanon only posted an OBP of .379.
