Softball Recap: South Garner Takes a Loss

South Garner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-4 to the Clayton Comets. The Titans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Comets from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

South Garner saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chyenne Epps, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Kalayah Edwards, who scored a run and stole Two bases.

South Garner's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Clayton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, South Garner will head out to face off against Willow Spring at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Garner has given up an average of 16.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Clayton, they will welcome Garner at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garner is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.
