Softball Recap: Hernando Find Success

Hernando had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Clinton Arrows 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Arrows: they've now won six in a row.

Madeline Sowell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Graycin Higginbotham, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Bergeron, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Hernando's victory bumped their record up to 28-4. As for Clinton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-14.

As of now, neither Hernando nor the Arrows have any future games scheduled.
