Softball Game Preview: Stafford Spartans vs. Wharton Tigers

Stafford hasn't had much luck against Wharton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Stafford Spartans will venture away from home to challenge the Wharton Tigers at 6:30 p.m.

Stafford saw some tournament action on Saturday. They and Fort Bend Bush finished up their contest with a 5-5 draw.

Wharton never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bloomington on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 15-5 margin over the Bobcats/Lady Cats. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The victory got Wharton back to even at 2-2. Stafford's tie makes their record 3-1-1 this season.

Stafford came up short against Wharton in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, falling 12-8. Can Stafford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
