Basketball Recap: Charleston Takes a Loss

Charleston lost against O'Bannon last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Charleston Tigers took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the O'Bannon Greenwaves. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Greenwaves are ranked 119th).

When it comes to explaining why Charleston lost, don't look at Omari Price. Despite the final result, he posted 26 points. Price continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Branderious Bankston, who scored 12 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Charleston and nudges their season record down to 4-19. As for O'Bannon, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Charleston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-37 loss against Palmer on the 11th. As for O'Bannon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-58 defeat against Ingomar on the 11th.
