Volleyball Recap: Depaul College Prep Falls Short Against Ranked Glenbrook South

DePaul College Prep faced Glenbrook South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Rams took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Kalia Kroth paced DePaul College Prep's offense, picking up ten kills. Kroth got some help from Evie Vigerust and her 11 assists. Anna Rhomberg controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Patty Stepek, who had ten digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six matches.

This is the second loss in a row for DePaul College Prep and nudges their season record down to 27-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 18-8 New Trier (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 76.3% over those games). As for Glenbrook South, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 25-5.

DePaul College Prep has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Riverside-Brookfield on the 18th. As for Glenbrook South, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against New Trier on the 18th.
