There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. A special shoutout goes to Cardinal Gibbons's senior Nik Scalzo, who scored six total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Hialeah's 48 - 0 win over Hialeah Gardens last week had a lot to do with the leadership of freshman D'Shawn Trowers. Trowers rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns. That performance landed Trowers among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The clash of the power ranking titans last week was between Southridge (12th in the power rankings) and Palmetto (15th). Southridge claimed a 27 - 16 victory over Palmetto. The win raised Southridge up three spots in the power rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
It isn't too difficult to come out on top when you enjoy a 232-yard edge over your opponent, and McArthur had just that last week. It put the hurt on Archbishop McCarthy with a conclusive 55 - 15 victory. One major factor in the win was the play of senior T.j. Smith, who tossed the ball for 207 yards and four TDs. The combined 70-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.
