Softball Recap: Sunnyslope Vikings vs. Sahuarita Mustangs

After a string of three wins, Sunnyslope's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sahuarita Mustangs. Sunnyslope was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sahuarita apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Sophia Pina made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI.

On Sahuarita's side, Brenna Figueroa was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (she also didn't allow any walks). Figueroa has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in nine consecutive pitching appearances. Figueroa was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
