Baseball Recap: Rampart Falls to Grand Junction Central in First Game of Season

Rampart had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 12-6 to the Grand Junction Central Warriors on Thursday. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Rampart saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cash Carpio, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Vince Carpio was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Looking ahead, Rampart will take on Fruita Monument in a tournament on Friday. As for Grand Junction Central, they will be playing at home against Palmer Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
