Soccer Recap: Edison Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mount Vernon last Thursday, Edison came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Annandale Atoms by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Edison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Annandale are ranked 107th).

Edison's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Annandale, they pushed their record up to 5-3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Edison is set to face off against their familiar foe Hayfield at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Annandale will challenge rival Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
