Soccer Game Preview: Somerset Academy vs. NSU University

The Somerset Academy Panthers will take on the NSU University Sharks in a tournament on Thursday. Somerset Academy will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Somerset Academy sidestepped Reagan for a 2-1 win. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Bison are ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sebastian Fernadez and Cory Edwards scored both of Somerset Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, NSU University was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They lost 5-0 to Gulliver Prep. The loss put an end to the Sharks' undefeated start to the season.

Somerset Academy pushed their record up to 9-0-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five games. As for NSU University, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1-1.
