Volleyball Recap: Center Falls to Salida in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Center had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Salida Spartans on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Vikings have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-11, 25-12.

Salida was led to victory by Madisyn Wilcox and Cooper Fisher. Wilcox had 19 assists and six digs, while Fisher had nine digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Fisher a new career-high in assists (four).

Coming up, Center will head out on the road to face off against Crested Butte at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Vikings' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Salida, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Telluride on the 22nd.
