Basketball Recap: Marianna Skates Past Cottondale with Ease

Marianna had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 32-point drubbing they dealt Cottondale on Tuesday. The Bulldogs blew past the Hornets, posting a 76-44 win. With that victory, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 51.8 points per game.

Marianna had a senior duo take command as Jacobi Killings went 6-for-8 en route to 14 points and three steals and Mason Mobley shot 50% from the field on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. Killings continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Knaus, who posted ten points.

Marianna smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The win got Marianna back to even at 2-2. As for Cottondale, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marianna will challenge Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cottondale, they will welcome Wewahitchka at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
