Volleyball Recap: Downey Knights vs. Pitman Pride
Downey lost against Pitman back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Knights fell just short of the Pride by a score of 3-2.
Downey was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Pitman work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 30-28, 25-11, 21-25, 13-25, 15-12.
Diego Burgos paced Downey's offense, picking up 15 kills. Burgos got some help from Rylan Sanchez and his 46 assists.
Downey's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8. As for Pitman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
Downey will head out on the road to square off against Enochs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pitman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
