Football Recap: Hollywood Skates Past Santa Clara with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marquez, Hollywood was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 42-8 win over the Santa Clara Saints. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-8.

Hollywood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Gatsiounis, who threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 38 yards and one TD. The Sheiks' leading receiver Ebrahim Drammeh was Gatsiounis' top target yet again, picking up 172 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Hollywood proved: they limited Santa Clara to a paltry three yards per carry. The Sheiks didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.4.

Hollywood's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Santa Clara, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Hollywood has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Torres on the 19th. As for Santa Clara, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 28-6 loss against Duarte on the 18th.
