Softball Recap: Benton Extends Winning Streak to Four

Benton never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the North Linn Lynx 6-0. Considering the Bobcats have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Benton's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for North Linn, they dropped their record down to 11-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benton will venture away from home to take on Marion at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Linn, they will face off against Alburnett at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Lynx's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
