Turner Ashby came tearing into Wednesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the William Monroe Dragons as they made off with a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Turner Ashby's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for William Monroe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Turner Ashby will venture away from home to challenge Rockbridge County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for William Monroe, they will head out to square off against Harrisonburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
