Softball Game Preview: Searcy Lions vs. Batesville Pioneers

The Searcy Lions will face off against the Batesville Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Searcy has four straight victories, Batesville has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Searcy barely beat Wynne the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions blew past the Yellowjackets 9-3 on Thursday. Considering the Lions have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Batesville fell victim to Greene County Tech and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 16-0 to the Golden Eagles. The game marked the first time this year in which the Pioneers were not able to get on the board.

Searcy's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Batesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.

Everything went Searcy's way against Batesville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Searcy made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
