Laton is a perfect 10-0 against Alpaugh since September of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will square off against the Buffalos at 7:00 p.m. Laton is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Laton's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They blew past Kings Christian 48-0. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Crusaders are ranked 45th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Andre Zapien continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 98 yards and three scores. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Laton's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Cooper Thomas was the leader with three.
Meanwhile, Alpaugh hadn't done well against Trona recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Buffalos narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tornadoes 24-22. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Buffalos have posted since August 29th.

Laton's record now sits at 8-0. As for Alpaugh, their record is now 8-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Laton has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 211.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Alpaugh struggles in that department as they've been averaging 236.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Laton strolled past Alpaugh in their previous matchup back in October by a score of 30-12. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Buffalos' Joshua Banuelos, who rushed for 95 yards and one TD on only ten carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Mustangs still be able to contain Banuelos? There's only one way to find out.
