Verdugo Hills moved up to 687 from 750 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in East Valley. The Dons were able to make the jump by defeating Grant 42-33.

Arleta extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating North Hollywood, 28-14. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.

Verdugo Hills' dynamic duo of Chase Keough and Josh Riggs proved tough for the Lancers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Keough threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns and Riggs had 169 yards receiving. Derek Wright helped Verdugo Hills' passing attack out by catching three balls for 103 yards.

HORACIO BARRON was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 135 yards on 13 carries as Poly topped Grant. Teammate PAUL DUNCANTELL added to the ground attack by rushing for 56 yards.

Monroe's Luis Dorame and Antjuan Farmer have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading East Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Dorame has thrown for 1734 yards this season, while Farmer, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 56 catches for 946 yards. Tyler Riggs from the Dons leads the league in rushing with 613 yards.

The Vikings' Farmer needs only 54 receiving yards against Rudy Delatorre's team to crack 1,000 for the season.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Parrots take on Verdugo Hills. As it stands, Poly is in fourth, while the Dons are in second.

Joseph Pierro's team was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Parrots defeated Chavez 54-12.
