Softball Recap: Raton Takes a Loss

Raton and Estancia squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Raton had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-6 to the Bears, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Raton's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Estancia, the win (which was their 22nd in a row) raised their record to 26-2.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Raton will challenge Eunice on Wednesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Estancia, they will take on Rehoboth Christian on Wednesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lynx have averaged an impressive 11.3 runs per game this season.
