League recap: Scio tops Toledo to extend winning streak

Scio extended the longest winning streak in 3A PacWest this week by beating Toledo, 65-14. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Loggers.

Salem Academy's dynamic duo of Carlin Ables and Jake Hall proved tough for Jefferson to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Ables threw for 162 yards and four touchdowns and Hall had 108 yards receiving. Anthony Tornio helped Salem Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 30 yards.

Nathan Jones made the biggest impact on defense this week as Scio defeated the Boomers. The 6-foot-0 senior racked up 2.0 sacks.

Daniel Harper was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 230 yards as Jim Mask's team beat the Lions. Jones also contributed to the rushing game with 228 yards on the ground.

Salem Academy's Ables and Hall have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ables has thrown for 607 yards this season, while Hall, a 6-foot-5 receiver, has 10 catches for 278 yards. The Loggers' Harper leads the league in rushing yards with 1072.

Scio led 3A PacWest in scoring this week after putting up 65 points on Toledo. Harper in the win.
